Add KNAON Y486AP Printer on Windows (Windows 10 Version 1709 or Higher Excluding 1709) via Wi-Fi

Prerequisite

Ensure your computer (Windows 10 Version 1709 or Higher Excluding 1709) and the KNAON Y486AP printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network or network segment. 

Installation Steps

1. Access Computer Settings

  • Open the Start menu and select "Settings".
  • In the Settings window, choose "Bluetooth & devices".

2. Navigate to Printers & Scanners

  • Within the "Bluetooth & devices" section, click on "Printers & scanners".

3. Add the Printer Device

  • Click the "Add device" button.
  • Ensure the KNAON Y486AP printer is powered on. The computer will detect nearby wireless and Bluetooth devices.
  • Locate "KNAON Y486AP-XXXX" in the device list and click "Add device" next to it.

4. Open and Configure the Print File

  • Open the file you want to print (e.g., a PDF label file like "Labels-Sample.pdf").
  • When the print dialog appears, adjust print parameters:
    • Select KNAON Y486AP as the printer.
    • Set paper size (e.g., "North America 4x6"), layout, and other settings as needed and Click the "Print" icon to start printing..
Alternative Method for Installation Failure:
This Wi-Fi driver installation method is not applicable to Windows 10 Version 1709 and below. Additionally, if the above Wi-Fi driver installation fails (e.g., the printer is not detected, installation wizard errors occur), you can manually add the printer via its IP address.
