AirPrint Setup Guide for macOS
Prerequisite:
Ensure your Mac and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network/subnet.
(Tip: Print the printer’s self-check page to verify its current network connection.)
Note:
-
No additional driver is required – macOS includes built-in AirPrint support. Simply ensure your printer is connected to the same network with your mac.
Step 1: Add the Printer to Your Mac
-
Open System Settings (or System Preferences on macOS 12 or earlier).
-
Navigate to Printers & Scanners > Click the + (Add) button at the bottom left.
-
Wait for your printer (e.g., "FlashLabel Y486AP") to appear in the list.
-
Select the printer and click Add.
Step 2: Print a Document
-
Open the file you wish to print.
-
Press Command + P or go to File > Print in the application menu.
-
In the print dialog:
-
Select FlashLabel Y486AP from the printer dropdown.
-
Adjust settings if needed, then click Print.
-
Troubleshooting Tips:
-
If the printer isn’t listed, restart both the printer and Mac, and recheck the network connection.
